Privacy Policy

Overview

SoundTrek ("we", "our", "us") helps you follow artists and find their upcoming tour dates near you. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) stores your email address and, if you use social sign-in, basic profile information (name, avatar) from that provider.
• Google or Spotify sign-in. If you sign in with Google or Spotify, we receive your email/profile from that provider. If you connect Spotify, we also request read-only access to the artists you follow and your top artists on Spotify, which we use once to suggest bands to follow on SoundTrek — we never post to your Spotify account or modify your Spotify library.
• Favorites. The artists you follow are stored against your account so your feed and map stay in sync across devices.
• Location. If you grant permission, we use your device's location to sort shows by distance and center the map view. You can deny this and SoundTrek falls back to a default location. We do not store a history of your location.
• Usage & device data. Standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) is processed by our hosting provider (Vercel) for security and reliability, consistent with their own privacy practices.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Authenticate you and keep your account secure
• Build your personalized tour feed and map
• Suggest artists to follow based on your Spotify listening, if you connect it
• Operate, maintain, and improve SoundTrek

We do not sell your personal information.

Third-party services

SoundTrek relies on the following third parties to operate:

• Clerk — authentication and account management
• Google & Spotify — optional social sign-in (only used if you choose them)
• Ticketmaster — live artist and tour date data; purchasing a ticket takes you to Ticketmaster's own site, which has its own privacy policy
• Mapbox — map rendering
• Vercel & Neon — hosting and database storage

Your choices

• You can unfollow any artist at any time from your Favorites page.
• You can revoke SoundTrek's access to your Google or Spotify account from that provider's own account settings at any time.
• You can disable location access in your browser or device settings at any time.
• You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below.

Children's privacy

SoundTrek is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
